Three essential components to a man’s look are his clothes, his shoes, and his hair. But if your hair is ruined, then your entire look will probably be ruined as well. This is why your experience at the barbershop is so important. But, unfortunately not all barbershop experiences turn out so great…
Here are 11 barbershop fears that can lead to the worst cut ever:
One of your biggest barbershop nightmares is finding out your go-to barber is moving to a different shop that’s far away from your house.
You’re forced to decide whether or not you’re willing to drive the extra miles or just go with a different barber.
If you decide to go with a new barber, you then have to deal with the risk of not knowing whether they’re a good barber or not.

This barber will either work wonders or completely destroy your look.
There’s also the risk of your barber not showing up to work at all, which means no fresh cut for the weekend.

This especially sucks when you’re counting on that fresh cut for a date, wedding ceremony, or any other special event.
When it comes to the razor work, your biggest fear is getting an uneven line-up or a line-up that’s wayyy too high.

Poor guy. Chances are he won’t ever get back to his original line-up.
Another problem you face is when you ask the barber to give you a trim and keep the length the same, but they end up chopping it super short.

Then you have to wait months until your hair grows back to the same length you had before.
An essential part to your haircut that your barber can also f*ck up, is your fade.

The fade can either turn out way higher than you asked or it won’t blend at all and look choppy like the image above.
In addition to your fade, there’s also the risk of your sideburns not turning out the way you expected.

Sometimes you ask for pointy sideburns and you turn out with square ones and it’s annoying AF.
Things start to get even more messy when you and your barber are not on the same page with barbershop vocabulary.

Some people have different names for different hairstyles. For instance, some people call pointed sideburns ice picks. So if you say pointy side burns, they may give you something different. Also, in New York a line-up, is a shape-up, which is very different from a tape-up.
If your barber likes to get lit, you also run the risk of them being drunk or high while they’re giving you your haircut.

As you can see by the face expression of the man above, this is a nerve-wrecking experience.
Sometimes you try to make things easier and show your barber a picture of how you want your haircut, but then the outcome turns out *completely* different.

You just sit there and smile and pretend you like the cut.
One fear you can never avoid is the sting of the alcohol spray once your cut is complete.

It’s like putting alcohol on a fresh scrape on your skin.
But despite all of these barbershop struggles, sometimes you get lucky and come out of the shop looking fresh AF.
